Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) is a specialized endoscopic procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions of the bile ducts, gallbladder, and pancreas. It combines the use of endoscopy and fluoroscopy to identify blockages, stones, strictures, or tumors in the biliary or pancreatic ducts.

ERCP is often recommended for patients with unexplained jaundice, bile duct stones, pancreatitis, or abnormal imaging results. During the procedure, a flexible endoscope is passed through the mouth to the duodenum, where a contrast dye is injected into the bile and pancreatic ducts. Real-time X-ray imaging helps guide therapeutic tools to remove stones, place stents, or take tissue samples (biopsies).

At Smouha Scope, our team of expert gastroenterologists performs ERCP using the latest technology to ensure safety and precision. The procedure is minimally invasive and usually performed under sedation, allowing most patients to return home the same day.

ERCP has revolutionized the treatment of complex hepatobiliary conditions, reducing the need for open surgery and improving recovery times. Our commitment to innovation and patient care places us at the forefront of advanced endoscopic interventions.
